Full-pleated Nagasamue

The full-pleated nagasamue is the more complex sibling of the side-pleated version. The skirt adheres much more closely to the priest koromo in its construction, imitating the full pattern of pleats while still modestly reducing the total amount of fabric compared to the koromo. The sleeves are samue-style, gathered at the wrist with elastic or a banded cuff with snaps (your choice).

This version, like the Japanese model it is based on, also features an attached belt, which is sewn to the back of the bodice with a decorative diamond pattern and is tied in the front when worn. The belt can be omitted if desired.

It is also possible to add an optional interior zippered pocket hidden inside the left front of the bodice.
