My sewing schedule is often booked out several months in advance. If you need robes for an ordination or other deadline, please get in touch as soon as you can.

Requesting fabric samples is highly recommended, and is a free service. Being able to see and feel the fabric options before making a decision can be an important part of the process, and helps you feel confident about what you will be getting. To request fabric samples, email me with your mailing address and let me know what you are interested in, and I will send them to you. I’m also happy to offer suggestions about what might be a good match for your needs.

Once you know what styles/fabric you want, fill out and submit an order form. I will calculate any applicable shipping and sales tax and email you an invoice with your total within a day or two. (You can estimate your total ahead of time based on the shipping/tax info below.) I can also give you a sense of my expected production timeline at this point.

When you are satisfied with your order details, pay the invoice online with a card or PayPal, or send a check. The entire total is due upfront, and includes a 20% non-refundable deposit (see policy below).

The final step is to take your measurements and submit them on the measurement form. I also request a full-length standing photo of you, which helps make sense of how your measurements translate into actual body shape. You can send your measurements before or after payment.

I cannot schedule your order for production until I receive all three items: order form, payment, and measurements.

Life is unpredictable and sometimes you need to cancel or adjust your order. I do my best to accommodate each situation in an upright and reasonable manner. If you think that there is a chance that you will need to cancel your order, please let me know upfront or as soon as you find out. This will allow me to confirm everything with you before I begin working on it.

  • All orders include a 20% non-refundable deposit (excluding taxes and shipping).
  • If you cancel your order before I start making it, you will be refunded in full minus the 20% deposit.
  • I am not able to issue refunds for work that I have already started.

All orders are shipped by USPS Priority Mail (3 days), include tracking, and are insured for the full amount of the order. Shipping costs are determined by the size of the item(s) and total order value. Estimated shipping costs are:

  • Obi/belt only, or single juban in a lightweight fabric (excluding flannel) — $9-$16
  • 1-3 items (samue, robes, and various combos), up to a full set of robes — $25-$55
  • Larger orders — $55-$65

Local customers can arrange for free pick-up at Boundless Mind Temple in Brooklyn, or at Ancestral Heart Temple in Millerton, NY.

Unfortunately, I am not able to offer international shipping at this time.

New York State sales tax applies to all orders that are delivered within the State of New York. Tax is calculated based on the entire total of your order, including shipping costs. The exact tax rate depends on the specific delivery jurisdiction, which is usually based on county. I will calculate the correct sales tax on your invoice, but if you would like to estimate the tax in advance, these are the most common rates:

  • New York City (Five Boroughs and Yonkers) – 8.875%
  • Dutchess County (Millerton) – 8.125%
  • Other NY counties – 7.0-8.75% (varies by district)
  • Out of state – no tax
